Autumn arrived this week, although the calendar reads differently. All of a sudden, the trees have erupted in technicolor hues. All of a sudden, the pause that we all have been feeling here in Northeastern Ohio for the past few weeks has ceased, and the wheel of the year moves ever onward...
This is my favorite time of year, and I relish the warm, sunny days of azure skies and brilliant light, as well as the clear, chilly nights revealing stars upon stars, planets upon planets: Infinity opening up upon itself.
As I walk the woodland paths wrapped in Autumn's golden gown, I feel such joy in being a part of this seasonal pageantry. Nature allows me to wear her fiery jewels of Ruby, Carnelian and Citrine as I commune in silent, joyful reverie.
Something stirs within me at this time of year--something deep and primal. I feel the need to embrace and exalt in Nature's perfection and abundance, while also contemplating growth, gifts, lessons and changes within my own life. It is a time to reflect, a time to review, a time to contemplate the cycles in our lives. It is a time to release what no longer serves us--outdated beliefs, thought forms, emotional responses, trauma, pain, and anything else that keeps us mired, stagnated, unable to move forward. It is a time to face the shadow within us as well as the light and to celebrate and embrace them both. It is time to love ourselves just as we are at this very moment without judgment, knowing we are perfectly imperfect.
There is also a sort of melancholy amidst the joy and opulence of Autumn, for we know that darker days are drawing near. We here in Northeast Ohio know what comes next...
I love to work with crystals that are suggested by Nature's palate at this time of year, as well as those suggested by the themes of the season.
Ruby, from her deepest, darkest red to her stunning scarlet hues, teaches us about vibrant life force energy and the sheer joy of being fully present in this temporary physical body while still fully embracing our eternal spirit--a perfect marriage of Heaven and Earth!
Carnelian, with its' brilliant orange ray and, bearing the energy of the Fire Element, teaches us about the beauty of conscious creation, of taking action on our dreams and aspirations, of embracing the creator within.
Citrine, in its' golden glory, teaches us about self esteem, personal will, manifesting abundance and prosperity, and living in a constant state of joy and gratitude, radiating our own personal inner Sun energy out into the world.
Other crystals and stones are suggested by the brilliant, clear skies. Aquamarine, bearing Water Element energy, teaches us about releasing those things which no longer serve us, especially emotional baggage and emotional trauma that is keeping us stuck in a rut and preventing us from moving forward.
Lapis Lazuli, with its deep, pure blue ray from Lazurite, its brilliant golden ray of Divine knowledge from Golden Pyrite, and the pure ray of the glorious white light of Source contributed by White Calcite, mimics the sky at twilight just after sunset. Lady Lapis teaches us to trust in ourselves, to go within for answers to burning questions, to learn to access the wisdom of the Universe by connecting to Spirit through our intuition and inner knowing. She opens our sacred mind and allows us to connect with ancient Earth as well as Galactic wisdom that is so very crucial to humanity at this juncture in Earth's history.
Celestite, with its' dreamy light blue ray carries the energy of the Air / Wind Element within its being and assists us in connecting with the angelic realm. Celestite's soothing, peaceful, sweet, high vibrations assist us in finding the stillness and peace within, enabling us to raise our own vibration so that we can communicate with Spirit in deeper ways.
These are but a few of the hues in Autumn's brilliant coat of many colors. Allow yourself to be wrapped in her spectacular beauty. Revel in the joy and perfection of Nature. Allow Mother Nature to teach you how best to review the waning year's gifts and lessons, release those things holding you back from your true potential and the manifestation of your dreams. Permit yourself to muse on what it is that you wish to create and experience in your life in the coming year.
Yes, the wheel of the year moves ever on. We will all soon be wrapped in the silent shroud of Winter where we will gestate until the Spring. What will you birth into the world upon your emergence?
Peace, joy and abundant blessings!
