Had I remained on the well-beaten path, my walk would have been beautiful as well, but predictable, safe, and I would have shared that path with many others. But because I forged my own way, deep into the heart of the woods, with only the trees, the animals, the river and the sky as my companions, I was led to discover places I had never seen or experienced before. I may have had to change direction many times, may have gotten muddy and wet, and may have had to exert myself a bit more, but in the end, I was given the gift of bright, shining, new vistas, new exhilarating experiences, heavenly solitude in which I found my inner being, and the joy of trusting in myself to make my own way.
Staying on the main path is perfect for many. The experiences, sights and sounds are familiar and comforting, and one is never alone! That path is also a good path, and we all walk that path from time to time. But within these golden woods, when the song of our wild nature calls to us, those of us who can hear must heed the call for freedom within our heart, within our soul! We must blaze our own trails, make our own way, forge new paths that few have ever traveled.
Nature is our greatest teacher here on this Earth-walk, and the metaphor is crystal clear. Deep within, we are wild and free, and long to dance to the song of creation in our own way. I hope you dance as well! Be wild! Be free! Be completely and uniquely you! Find your own path within this world and rejoice in the beauty that would have been missed had you trodden the well-traveled road. I, for one, know it is all worth any temporary difficulty. This is Nature's secret gift to all who listen. She is calling...
Autumn Blessings!
